Time Stands Still join Eruption 2026 Battle of the Bands in Aberdeen

We’re heading north to Aberdeen to take part in Eruption 2026, the annual Battle of the Bands competition at Krakatoa.

Eruption brings together new and established original bands and artists from across Aberdeen, Grampian, Inverness, Dundee and Perth, with more than 20 heats taking place throughout the summer. Successful acts progress to four semi-finals in January, before the competition reaches its grand final in February.

For us, it is another chance to get Ghost of Me in front of a new crowd and take the Time Stands Still live show somewhere we have not played before. Our debut album moves between heavy alternative rock, big dual-guitar riffs and more reflective songwriting, and we’re looking forward to putting those songs through their paces on the Krakatoa stage.

More than just bragging rights

There is a serious prize at stake too. Eruption has a cash prize pool of at least £2,000, with the money intended to help the winning act fund professional recording or video production at a local studio.

That makes the competition particularly interesting for original bands. Rather than simply offering a trophy, the prize is designed to go straight back into creating new music and helping the winner take their next step.

The summer heats run throughout July and August before the competition moves into its semi-final stage in January and the grand final in February.

We’ll be playing our own material at:
